David Joy
David is an all round Scottish professional artist and golf historian. Well respected and admired for his many talents, David hails from and lives in a traditional cottage on the fringe of St Andrews. His beautiful works of art are displayed and sold across the world. Featured here is his Wildlife Series. He also paints Seascapes of locations from around Fife and his latest “Scapes” series can be found here.
David’s studio is situated in his garden which delights with his magic and charm, a real haven of character, wildlife and peace. With no shortage of inspiration his illustrations share the nature and beauty of Fife’s animals, birds and insects amid the flora.
As a Golf Historian, David Joy is also a prolific author and illustrator on the game of golf and is regarded as one of the foremost authorities on the subject.

David Joy has been known as an internationally noted golf historian for many years. With a number of awards both locally in St Andrews and internationally, he is an accomplished author, illustrator, engraver and speaker on the subject of golf.
St Andrews is known as the home of golf through the pioneering work accomplished by its citizens. The contribution of the Joy family currently spanning five generations in St Andrews cannot be underestimated, over the years they have not only contributed, they have continued to promote it’s magic and David Joy is an encapsulation of the wonderful magic of what we know and love today as the game of golf.
